He has also been working in the field of Process Improvement for over 18 years and was previously Quality Manager and Lean Manager for one of Northern Ireland's largest automotive production plants.

Course Objectives:
This course introduces the fundamental lean concept of Continuous Flow. This often counter-intuitive approach challenges the traditional batch and queue system. Delegates are taken through the development of standard work, layout for Flow and Work balance with the power of Continuous Flow demonstrated through simulation exercises.
Contents:
Overview of lean principles
- Value, Non-Value and the 7 wastes
- The importance of Continuous Flow
- Repetitive and non-repetitive work
- Breaking the work down into elements
- Timing the work
- Documenting standard work
- Find a problem, fix the problem and stop it from coming back
- Develop the Operator Balance Chart (OBC)
- Calculate Takt Time and Cycle Times
- Distribute the work up and develop options
- Constraint Management
- Cell design and equipment layout and material
- Levelling the production mix
